Amber Young studied Pharmacy at the University of Otago and worked as a community pharmacist in New Zealand before heading to the UK, where she worked as a community pharmacist and then in various positions at St George’s Hospital Pharmacy. Amber took up an editorial role with the British National Formulary in London in 2011. Following this, Amber returned to New Zealand to join the NZ Formulary team. Amber recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy by research and has worked as a research assistant on an HRC-funded ‘Polypharmacy' project at the School of Pharmacy, University of Otago.
Amber is investigating the optimisation and provision of medicine information to patients. The provision of information about medicines to a wide variety of patients has been a fundamental responsibility for her in both primary and secondary care in New Zealand and the UK.
